Why won't you get to play Mother?
I was really referring to an HD remake of any of the games in the MOTHER series. Nintendo has no intention of supporting the series (and its small but incredibly dedicated cult following) in the US. (Plus, Shigesato Itoi has gone on record saying he’s not looking to make any more MOTHER games.)
It’s a shame too, because (without giving my whole MOTHER spiel) these games are well written, often touching stories about overcoming insurmountable odds through hard work. Everyone who likes RPGs should play EarthBound, and if you specifically enjoy RPGs that will make you cry, you owe it to yourself to play MOTHER 3.
