I finally have my internet back, so I’ve uploaded a bunch of pictures and videos of the beach at to Long Beach the day after the storm. Check them out at my Flickr account

Above, some perspective for how far I am from where all those reporters were during the storm.

The after shot.
I took tons of pictures of the beach, boardwalk and moved tower. Will post them when my Internet returns. For how, take this.

Pre-evacuation update: it just started raining and the workers are still milling about. Most traces of the event are gone except the pink Roxy house.
Also, my area is under mandatory evacuation, yet my building is still completely full. Hmm.

NIGHT TIME UPDATE
Deconstruction continues. They’ve been out there all day and they’ve got nearly everything down. After Sunday they’ll have just four days to put it back up again. Sounds like they’re going to be here for a while.

Construction status: disassembled.
Workers were out all night taking apart tents, rigging and scaffolding and strapping things down. Here’s hoping they’re getting overtime… it’s going to be a rush to put it all back together in time.
