Sony cuts price of Reader Pocket Edition, tries to duck iPad

So it begins! 

Apple has always had a well deserved reputation for being a premium brand. Now that it’s bringing out a product with greater capabilities at a price that’s almost half of what everybody expected them to charge, will the remaining players in the market all shift downward, restoring Apple to “premium” status? So it would seem, as Sony does just that. Now we’ll have to see if Amazon/B&N/Spring Design follows suit!

Sony Reader Daily Edition reviewed: unworthy of cost premium or love

As much as I had high hopes for the Sony Reader Daily Edition, it’s fun to see a device just get ripped on every once in a while. Read this for a fun review!

Sony says the Reader is selling 'very well'

I really like Sony’s adaptation of the classic library model that came along with their deals with public libraries, so I’d prefer some real sales numbers… but we will take what we can get.

For all of my qualms about E-ink, I really, really like the Sony Reader PRS-900 Daily Edition. I think the contnt agreements Sony are hammering out with libraries are a really neat approach to taking processes already proven and updating them to fit on newer technology.
